This Catholic School Advisory Commission (CSAC) falls under the local CSAC policy of the Catholic School Department under DSB 2250. The St. Thomas the Apostle Advisory Commission is consultative to the pastor and the principal. There are nine members on the Advisory Commission, each serving a three-year term. The parents at large elect five members, and four are appointed by the Pastor, Principal and Advisory Commission President. The Pastor and Principal also sit on the Commission. Ex-officio members are a representative from the Parents’ Club, Parish Finance Council, and the Parish Pastoral Council. The CSAC meets once per month on a date and time set at the beginning of each school year. Meetings’ dates and times are announced and are open to anyone wishing to attend.

Parent Club

St. Thomas the Apostle Parents’ Club acts as an advisory body to the principal and supports the school through building community among school and parish families, providing general meetings to help with open and informative communication between school and home, and operating a fund raising budget to financially aid the school. The fund raising program is an important source of revenue for our school’s operational expenses and these monies help keep tuition costs to a minimum for the school’s families. The Parent Club meets five times per year, and it is a participation requirement of every family’s registration agreement to attend all Parent Club meetings.
